Dinner meeting: January 15th
Flying Event: Davis-Monthan AFB, Pima Air Museum, and Titan Missile Silo, January 16 - 17, (two nights). Hosted by Gene and Bonnie Barlowe, 805-529-8011. When the Barlowes are hosting a fly-in, it doesn't matter where you go...it's worth it just for the cocktail parties!
Board Meeting: January 31st with a VFR fly-in to lunch afterward. We'll let you know where.
The Flying Event will be a day trip out to Palmdale to tour the Air Traffic Control facility on February 14th. Don Eisenberg will host this one.
The fly-in to Goldstone has been re-scheduled for March 21st. You'll have to reserve again with Fred Heim.
The Fly-In will be to Chico. Joel Kirshner is hosting this one, and he says there's lots to do up there. 2 nights, April 24 - 25.
This Fly-In will begin with the Thursday-night street fair in San Luis Obispo, we'll spend the night, then visit Hearst Castle for a tour on Friday. May 28th, and Gene Korney will be in charge.
We'll fly to Catalina's Airport in the Sky for a BBQ. Jim Barton is hosting this one on Sunday, the 21st.
The 4th of July is traditionally a big fly-in for Airventurers. The Simanskys will take us to Prescott, AZ to take in a rodeo, museums, a flight service station...wear your cowboy paraphernalia. This is the oldest rodeo in the country, and tickets go on sale in December and sell out fast. If you're even THINKING about going, get your deposit in ASAP.
We're combining several events this month - the CMA airshow and the club picnic, all centered around the Barlowe's luxurious hangar. We can party til the wee hours, sleep somewhere, and all go to breakfast the next morning. August 22nd.
The Rifkins will host a fly-in to Oakland. There's lots to do in the Bay Area - Jack London Square, visit an aircraft carrier, figuring out how to buy a ticket for BART is an adventure in itself. 2 nights, October 16th - 18th.
Cliff Busick is taking us to Palm Springs on Nov. 14th to see the famous Follies.
No fly-in this month, but we will have a smashing Holiday Party.
